Report from the President’s office with fascinating content related to the “negroes” taken from the Seminole during the Seminole war. It seems they were composed of slaves “stolen” from plantations, sold originally by the Spanish, who were captured in previous conflicts, or who had been fugitive slaves and were then subsequently captured by the Seminole.

In all, over 400 were acquired by the Americans during the battle. They were moved to New Orleans to be either claimed by their original masters or to be sold at auction. Includes specific graphs, etc.
